Our Mission

The White River Regional Solid Waste Management District (RSWMD) is committed to promoting sustainable waste management practices across North Central Arkansas. We strive to reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and protect our environment through innovative and collaborative solutions.

Who We Are

Composed of ten counties in North Central Arkansas, RSWMD operates through the collaborative efforts of local governments, businesses, and individuals. We partner with communities to implement sustainable waste management practices, educate residents, and provide valuable resources to manage waste efficiently.

1. Community Recycling Programs

We facilitate convenient recycling programs throughout the district, offering residents access to convenient drop-off locations for various recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, plastic, and glass.

2. E-Waste Recycling & Disposal

We partner with local businesses and organizations to provide responsible disposal options for electronics such as computers, televisions, and cell phones, ensuring the safe and environmentally friendly management of these hazardous materials.

3. Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

We encourage proper disposal of household hazardous materials like batteries, light bulbs, and medications through designated collection events.

4. Composting & Waste Reduction Programs

We promote composting initiatives to convert food scraps and yard trimmings into valuable compost, reducing landfill waste and promoting sustainable practices.

5. Outreach & Education

We believe in empowering communities with accurate information about waste management. We offer educational programs, workshops, and community outreach initiatives to raise awareness and encourage residents to engage in sustainable practices.
