History and Mission
First Star Recycling was formed in 1997 with the mission to enhance Nebraska's recycling infrastructure. We started operations in Fremont and have since grown to employ over 110 people at our Omaha and Lincoln recycling operations. We process recyclables for businesses and communities throughout the Midwest and markets close to 100,000 tons annually to end-users throughout the country and internationally.
